Wanhao Duplicator 4 Using Simplfy 3D

Specifications

Maximum Print Size: 22.5 x 14.5 x 15 cm

Layer Thickness: 100 microns in ABS, PLA and PVA

Settings

• Device Settings: (Typically 200- 215°C for the extruder and 70°C for the platform)

• Extrusion Speeds
• Infill (Lower this for faster prints. Raise it for stronger prints.)
• Model Properties
• Multi-Material Printing: (One can add Purge Walls to help eliminate loose filament from attaching to the piece)
• Raft: (Usually a good idea to keep on)
• Supports and Bridging (Used when parts have an overhang so that the printer has a surface to print on)
• Right Extruder
• Left Extruder

Using Simplfy 3D

1. After you open the software clear any models or processes by clicking remove or delete
2. Click the import button to import your .stl or .obj file

• select your file and then click open. Your object should then then appear on the bed

1. Click the add button under processes
2. Name your process what you want (please do not save)
3. Under printer select the Wanhao duplicator 4/4x single or dual(if needed)
4. Under the additions tab, choose skirt, brim, or raft
5. Under the infill tab choose the interior fill percentage
6. Under the support tab choose to generate support material if necessary

Selecting the Profile

1. Under auto configure choose the correct material
2. Click prepare to print
3. Check to ensure your model is ready to print
4. Choose save tool paths to disk
5. When using the Wanhao save your model to a SD card

Printing a G-code file

1. Turn on Wanhao 4 with power switch located on the back of the printer.
2. Insert a micro SD chip containing a G-code file into the bottom right port on the Wanhao 4.
3. Locate “Print from SD” on the Wanhao’s screen and select OK.
4. Use the arrows to select the desired file then press OK.
5. The printer will begin printing.

Note: Remember to apply glue or blue tape, purple Elmer's is provided in the clear bins near the 3D printers

         To cancel a job, push OK, locate and select “Cancel Print” and select yes.

Note: It is important that object lay flat on the bed to get a good foundation and so that the printer is able to accurately print the object.

Loading filaments

1. Power on the Wanhao Duplicator 4
2. Select Utilities- Filament Loading- Load Left/Right
3. Wait for the Duplicator 4 to preheat
4. Place spool on spool holder located behind the printer. The spool should release on the side of the printer.
5. Pull out the black tube from the top of the extruder .
6. Feed the filament through the back end of the tube until it comes out.
7. After being preheated, push down on the black lever near the extruder and begin feeding the filament through the extruder hole
8. Push down the filament until the machine begins self feeding
