The Oculus Rift is a virtual reality headset complete with an infrared sensor. The infrared sensor creates the 3D space the user can interact with using the headset.

Setting up the Oculus Rift

  1. First plug the oculus sensor into the USB port on the desk nearest one of the two monitors.
  2. Plug both wires from the Oculus Rift headset into the PC underneath the desk.

Starting the Oculus Rift

  1. Open the Oculus app (located on the desktop) if it doesn't automatically open. Do not open the "Steam" app.
  2. Plug the Xbox controller directly into the PC.
  3. On the "Oculus" application screen, choose "Devices," from here, you can see which devices are connected and working. If all the devices are connected and working, (headset, sensor, controller and/or remote) you are now ready to choose a game to use with the Oculus Rift.
  4. Select a game with either the computer mouse, or put the headset on and use the controller to select a game. Select a game from the "Library" tab on the application screen.
  • To display the Oculus Home on the monitor while someone is using the device, click the "Oculus Unhider" icon next to the "Oculus" icon on the desktop.

To Exit Oculus Rift

  1. Press the Xbox button (the main button lit up in blue) to reach the menu.
  2. Select "Exit to Home"
  3. Take off the headset
  4. Right click the oculus tab in the the windows task-bar and select "close window"
  5. Unplug the Oculus Rift

Troubleshooting
