First 3D Print
If this is your first time 3D Printing read over these instructions before getting to work
- The file you want to 3D Print must be an object file (.obj) or an stereolithographic file (.stl)
- Each printer has a slightly different software and set up; see which printers are available, then go to that printer's instructional page on our website
- Think about your print logically:
- It doesn't make sense to print a candy cane standing up right, but it does make sense to print it flat against the bed
- Printing a ring on its side will cause the center to be filled with supports, lying the ring down circumvents this issue, giving you a cleaner print
- Having your design oriented corrected lessens the chance of printing error
- If this is your first print, put "supports" on your design, this will lessen the chance of the print going wrong
- Infill should only fall between 15-40%,
- A higher fill does not equal a better print, but it does equal a high print time
- Starting with 25% fill should be fine
