The HTC Vive
The HTC Vive is a virtual reality headset that transforms the space you're in into a 3D virtual space the user can interact with. The Vive also comes with handheld controllers that track your arm and hand movements, allowing you to hold, throw, and interact with the objects in the virtual space in a multitude of ways.
Setting Up the HTC Vive
- Plug the cord from the headset into either the PC or the port on the desk near the monitors.
- Turn on the two handheld controllers by pressing the button under the large thumb pad.
Starting the HTC Vive
- Open the "Steam" app (located on the desktop)
- Look at the upper right of the Steam application menu screen, and mouse over "VR," now press "Start VR"
- Step 2 will open a menu that shows which devices are connected and working. If all devices are connected, the menu should say "Ready."
- Once the menu says "Ready," choose a game under the "VR" section of the "My Games" tab to the left of the "Steam" application screen.
- You are now ready to use the HTC Vive
To Display the HTC Vive on the T.V
- Right click anywhere on the desktop
- Select "Display Settings" which will open the computer's display menu.
- Once here, select "Customize your display"
- You can choose either "extend these displays" or Duplicate" under the option that reads "Multiple Displays"
